About First Aid Pocket Guide

Useful first aid should be easier to reach.

This is an independent Australian project for people who want clear information, a calmer way to learn and practical reminders that can live beside a kit.

OUR PROMISEMake the next safe action easier to see.Learn · practise · keep it close

Why this exists

In an emergency, people do not need a lecture.

They need the next safe action, written plainly, with enough context to recognise when it applies. First Aid Pocket Guide is built around that moment: a quick answer first, then a guide, a practice activity or a printable that helps the idea stick.

The site is for everyday settings — homes, workplaces, schools, clubs, kitchens, roads and outdoor places — and uses Australian emergency numbers and terminology.

Read, practise and print

Learn → practise → keep.

Different formats help at different moments. The site connects them so you do not have to start over.

How resources are made

Editorial standards

What this site can and cannot do.

It can help you

Learn common first-aid principles, rehearse a next step and keep a quick reminder nearby.

It cannot replace

Emergency services, a 000 call-taker, professional medical assessment or a current first-aid course.

Guides summarise Australian sources including Healthdirect, ANZCOR and ASCIA. Dates record editorial updates, not independent clinical sign-off. These organisations have not endorsed this site. If you spot an error or outdated link, please use the contact email and include the page.

Saved guides and practice data

This site saves a selection of emergency guides and pages you visit for offline reading. A saved copy can become outdated. Reconnect to read the latest version; in an emergency, call 000 instead of waiting for a page.

Your practice answers stay in the current page and are not submitted to us. Printable worksheets do not submit the details you fill in. Your browser may remember form fields, so take care on a shared device and keep completed printouts or PDFs private.

Learning progress — best results, completions and badges — stays in this browser on this device. No account is needed.

Manage saved guides

Turning off offline saving removes this first-aid resource’s saved copies from this browser. You can keep using the website while online and turn saving back on later.

Checking offline settings…

When browser storage is available, your saving preference is remembered here. Email enquiries use the contact mailbox; include the page address when reporting a website problem.
